Mid-Hudson Valley Alumnae Chapter in Action

The Mid-Hudson Valley Alumnae Chapter strives to provide different resources to the Mid-Hudson Valley on New York. From children to elders, we support our community with an array of different programs and events.
Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy

Monthly tutoring and mentoring program for girls ages 11 to 14 years old.  This program is held at Poughkeepsie Middle School. The emphasis of the program is on Math, Science and Technology and helps to improve the self-esteem of participants.

Biennial Jabberwock Cotillion

One of our most popular events, the Debutante Cotillion was created with our young women in mind. The Debutante Cotillion provides monthly workshops on personal care, self-esteem, education, college prep/careers and other topics enabling the debutantes to grow.  The workshops culminate with the cotillion, which raises money for our annual scholarships.
